BLUE LOTUS GROVE
Blue Lotus Grove was conceived after our marriage in 2005. After Initiating with the Grove of Phoenix Rising we expanded our diverse Tradition and formed our Grove.
We are a diverse group focusing in the teachings of our Tradition as well as current ideas and concepts pertaining to Wicca, Magic, Energy and much more. The main Grove is an outer court open group. Sabbat celebrations are open to all current initiates, students, and “friends of the Grove”. Interested persons who wish to observe, and learn more of our religion, but who do not wish to participate, are welcome outside the circle.
- Our New Moon rituals are open only to initiates and current students.
- The Inner group known as the Coven consists of only Initiates.
- Full Moons are closed and only initiates may participate and/or observe.
- The Grove is dualistically oriented, with male and female co-ruling throughout the year.
Like other Wiccan Traditions in this modern world, some of our teachings are very similar to those you may have encountered in books or elsewhere and some of our teaching are different. One of the first differences you will notice is arrangement of The Guardians of the Elements in their Watchtower directions. You will be given a detailed history and rational of these correspondences in the appropriate lesson, but for now just note that we work with:
- The Element of Earth in the East
- The Element of Fire in the South
- The Element of Water in the West
- The Element of Air in the North
FUNCTIONS OF THE GROVE
- Presenting a structured system of classes
- Exploration of the dynamic balance of continuity and change
- Celebrating the seasonal changes
- Guidance toward finding and developing an increasingly closer personal connection with the God & Goddess
- Ways to honor Nature in our lives and find nurturance, guidance, and community with like-minded others
- Perceive and experience the Sacred on this Earth, in these bodies, right here and right now
- Opportunity for dedication and for three different levels of Initiation
GROVE MEMBERSHIP
We are accepting new students; male and female individuals are welcome as well as families of all kinds and orientations.
We are looking for people 18 or older who are not only focused and dedicated, but who are interested in the spiritual, religious, and scientific aspects of Wicca in balance with the magickal aspects of Witchcraft.
THE PEOPLE OF THE GROVE
The Priestess:The focal point and heart center of the Grove and all it’s workings. She is the mortal representation and image of the Mother, Sister and Friend to all within the Grove. Upon her rests the responsibility teaching, ritual construction & performance, and counseling. She is the Keeper of the Grove records and of the teaching and ritual materials. As a representative of the Goddess, the Priestess bears the title of Lady, to remind us that she acts as a channel for the All-Mother.
The Priest: He is the other focal point of the Grove, the balance to the Priestess. His duties also include ritual performance, teaching and counseling. He is the mortal representative and image of the Father, Brother, and Friend to all within the Grove. He provides the force and momentum to counterpoint the Priestess’ form and structure.
The Maiden: A woman chosen by the Grove Priestess to aid in ritual, teaching, and the maintenance of Grove tools and equipment. In the absence of the Priestess the Maiden is expected to fulfill all of her duties. She shares in the responsibilities of running the Grove, and seeing that all goes smoothly at ritual functions. There can also be an Apprentice Maiden, who is in training to become a Maiden and acts as a stand-in in the absence of the Maiden.
The Summoner: A man chosen by the Grove Priest to aid and assist him in his duties. He is the ritual guide, the Sargent-at-arms, the fire tender, and the right hand man of the Priest, i.e. he will also be encouraged to take on teaching and counseling duties as well. He is also known and the “Messenger of the Gods”.
The Scribe: The person responsible for the disseminating of news, information and schedule changes. They may also act as a teacher and record keeper.
The Teacher:This role is usually filled by the Priestess or the Priest. However as a part of their training, initiates of various levels will be student teaching under the supervision of the Priestess. Good teachers are empathetic, but firm, warm and friendly, with a sincere desire to share, and to instruct new students.
